11 Things That Rank 10/10
1. 10/10 Jeni's ice cream, which we tried for the first time last night. Then later looked on the website and drooled over all of the flavors.
2. 10/10 The foliage this year, the fall light, the colors, the blue sky, the way the leaves look when they're falling.
3. 10/10 Snuggling with Chupie. Seriously one of my favorite things in life and our evening ritual most days. I get right down on her bed with her (she's not allowed on the furniture much to her dismay) and it's the sweetest, coziest thing ever.
4. 10/10 Appreciation for being able to afford a home and food and bills and extras.
5. 10/10 Love of alliteration. Just this morning, I wrote these C and P words down – the lists are not mine, but from a client who is in turn quoting Dr. Richard Schwartz, founder of Internal Family Systems. So pleasing, to surround myself with words that are the qualities I want more of in myself and my life.
6. 10/10 Laughing. Laugher really is one of the best things. This morning, a photo of a perpetually disappointed-looking cat made me laugh.
7. 10/10 Trees. Trees astound me, awe me, accompany me, allure me. Also snuck in some alliteration there.
8. 10/10 Being physically well. I had three different cancer screenings this month – skin, colon, breast – and am giving thanks that they all came back clear.
9. 10/10 Gratitude itself. How it is a self-fulfilling mechanism, nourishing.
10. 10/10 The smell of cedar and earth and salt water and brown sugar and pavement after rain and babies' heads.
11. 10/10 Taking the time to write this list, to attune to the many blessings hidden in plain sight.
* Join me for a YEAR of writing 11 things in an intimate group of fellow humans. *
In January, April, July, and October, we’ll gather for 11 days to write each day, to tune into the sounds of our real lives, and to practice showing up to the page.
You’ll also get a 1:1 coaching call with me during each session, to check in and track where you are in your writing and life.
